STAR Award Winner

DCMH proudly announces Angela Dudley as the 2025 Q2 Star Award Winner. Beginning her DCMH career nearly 3 years ago, Angela serves as a Prior Authorization Specialist. Angela holds an Associate’s Degree in Health Care Support and has received most of her experience through on-the-job training.

Born in Batesville, Indiana, Angela currently resides in Sunman, Indiana, with her husband, Steven, of nearly 10 years, and children Harper, 6, and Colton, 4. In her spare time, Angela enjoys reading and embroidery.

Angela’s quick thinking and dedication made a real difference for a patient in need. When a patient required an urgent echocardiogram, a heart test that can detect serious conditions, Angela recognized the importance of moving quickly. Insurance approvals for these kinds of tests can often take 24-48 hours, but Angela personally called the insurance company and secured the needed authorization that same day.

Because of her extra effort, the patient was able to get the test just hours later, bringing peace of mind and timely answers. Her nominator shared, “Angela’s willingness to take the lead on the call meant our team could continue focusing on other patients who needed care. She truly made a difference in this patient’s life. She goes the extra mile every day to support both our patients and her team, but it’s so meaningful to have a moment to recognize all that she does.”

For others hoping to find success similar to Angela’s, she notes that her success is possible through being dependable, a quick learner, and a strong team player, noting, “Teamwork goes a long way.” Angela is committed to working hard and helping others, as evidenced by her STAR nomination.
