STAR Award Winner

Please join us in congratulating Jess Heiden as our 2026 1st Quarter STAR Award Winner!

Jess Heiden, CCMA, is the 2026 Q1 STAR Award Winner. Beginning her DCMH career in the Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program in 2024, she is now a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) in the Outpatient Clinic. In her current role, she enjoys learning new things and embracing new challenges. Born in Kentucky, Jess now resides in Greensburg and is newly married. Outside of work, Jess enjoys reading and cooking.

Jess’s dedication and selflessness led to her STAR nomination. Her nominator highlighted her incredible commitment to DCMH, noting her willingness to step in wherever needed, always with a smile and a positive attitude. Her nominator states, “Jess jumps in and helps any time help is needed, and she does this without a complaint.”

When an area in the Outpatient Clinic needed an extra set of hands, Jess willingly took it upon herself to help, ensuring the best experience possible for both her coworkers and patients. Her nominator added, “She shows care, compassion, and leadership on a daily basis.”

Her nomination also details a time in which Jess put a patient’s comfort first, sitting with him as he waited for his appointment and ensuring he felt safe and heard. Selflessness and a commitment to her patients are defining characteristics of Jess.
Jess expresses her compassion, which has made her successful at DCMH. Being able to see what a patient or coworker is going through and offering empathetic support. For others hoping to find similar success, Jess states some simple but important advice: “Be open to learning from those with greater experience.”

Jess’s compassion, commitment to service, and selflessness are made evident by her STAR nomination.
