Social Work

The principle purpose of the Social Work Department is to provide services to patients and others who have social, psychological, environmental, and/or economical needs related to the impact of admission, diagnosis, treatment, discharge and/or aftercare. 

Services provided are, but not limited to: psychosocial assessment, discharge/transition planning, consultation, crisis intervention, education, community liaison, information and referral, and advocacy. 

The Social Work Department offers services to inpatients, observation, outpatients, swing bed, cancer care, emergency, and Home Health Care patients.  Age of population varies from neonates through geriatric. DCMH patients involved with these services may request the assistance of one of our Social Workers. 

Decatur County Memorial Hospital Social Work Department is staffed with master’s level licensed Social Workers. Should you need assistance or have questions feel free to contact the Social Work Department call 812-663-1176.
