Join us June 8th from 6-8:30 p.m. for the 2023 Spirit of Women Symposium: Grow Through What You Go Through. This year’s symposium is centered around mental health. Our keynote speaker for the event is GCHS graduate and Miss Indiana USA 2022, Sammy Toney. DCMH’s own Desirae Moore will open the event, discussing topics in mental health and aging. Enjoy a menu of various chocolate treats, take part in a yoga demonstration from Nyree Wessler, and enter to win fabulous door prizes. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

About Miss Indiana USA 2022, Sammy Toney

Sammy Toney is a 28-year-old marketing specialist and business promoter. Her story of resilience and determination has inspired many youths across the state in the role of Miss Indiana USA 2022. She won the title after receiving 1st runner-up three years in a row and during her final year of eligibility. Still, her dedication, perseverance, and tenacity paid off, and she represented Indiana in the 2022 Miss USA Pageant. As Miss Indiana USA, she volunteers with the Best Buddies program and the Special Olympics. When she crowns her successor in July, she will be the second-longest serving Miss Indiana USA titleholder in 72 years.

About Desirae Moore

Desirae Moore is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with experience in working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. She believes in and practices from a strength-based and solution-focused approach. Her clinical experience includes working through crises, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, serious mental illnesses, and relationship conflicts.
