Wound Clinic
While many wounds heal within days or weeks, some take longer and need specialized care. When a wound isn’t healing properly, it can become painful, limit your movement, and affect your daily life.
At the DCMH Wound Clinic, our team works with you to create a personalized plan that supports healing and helps you get back to living comfortably.

How Long Will Treatment Take?
How Long Will Treatment Take at the Wound Clinic?
Healing looks different for everyone.
The number of visits you need will depend on your specific wound and overall health. Many patients benefit from ongoing care over multiple visits.
Your care team will work closely with you to give your wound the best chance to heal.
What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) ?
What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) ?
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a non-invasive treatment that helps your body heal by delivering more oxygen where it’s needed most.
Is HBOT Safe?
HBOT is prescribed by a physician and performed under the supervision of trained specialists. As with any medical treatment, there are some risks, but they are rare. Your care team will review everything with you so you feel informed and comfortable before starting.
What to Expect During HBOT Treatment
HBOT is a comfortable, non-invasive treatment. During each session, you’ll relax in a specialized chamber, breathing 100% oxygen, while your care team monitors you throughout the process. This allows oxygen to travel more effectively through your bloodstream and reach damaged or slow-healing tissue, supporting recovery and improving healing. Your care team will walk you through what to expect and answer any questions before treatment begins.
How HBOT Can Help
HBOT is often used to treat:
-
- Wounds that are slow to heal (such as diabetic ulcers)
- Injuries from past radiation therapy
- Infections in the bone
- Skin grafts or surgical flaps that are not healing properly
Your provider may also recommend HBOT for other conditions based on your specific needs.
How Many HBOT Treatments Will You Need?
The number of treatments depends on your condition and how your body responds to therapy. Your provider will create a personalized plan to give you the best chance for healing.
