DCMH welcomed the community on June 5 to its 17th annual Healthy Fair, a free health event focused on improving access to care and promoting wellness.
This year’s fair saw over 520 community members and provided over 670 free health screenings, making it one of the most impactful Healthy Fairs to date. From preventive screenings to hands-on training and education, the event offered something for all ages—no cost, no appointment, just care.
Participants received access to a wide range of free health services, including:

- CMP Screening – Evaluates kidney and liver function
- Lipid Profile Screening – Measures cholesterol and heart health (includes HDL & Triglycerides)
- Emergency Bleed Kit Training and Take-Home Kits Provided

- Preventative Cancer Screenings (recommended by age/gender)

Visitors also had the opportunity to speak directly with health professionals, explore educational booths, and connect with local resources to support their health journey. Presenters included dedicated DCMH care teams and experts, each offering valuable insights:

The presentations were also streamed in the lab area for attendees to view while receiving the health screenings. Together, these presenters helped create a meaningful, education-focused event aimed at promoting better health outcomes for Decatur County and beyond.
“This event is about more than screenings—it’s about showing up for our community,” said Liz McCoy, DCMH Marketing & Communications Manager. “We want every person to know they matter and that their health is important. Whether it’s early detection, a helpful conversation, or simply feeling supported, the Healthy Fair is one way we come together to care for each other.”
DCMH’s Healthy Fair is a true community effort, bringing together local organizations and a wide range of health and wellness professionals, all with a shared commitment to strengthen access to trusted care throughout our community.
“We are so grateful for our partnership with Decatur County Memorial. Their commitment to meet the needs of the community and innovate to provide exceptional healthcare is inspiring. Our sponsorship of the Healthy Fair is one way we can support their efforts,” said Duke Energy Government and Community Relations Manager.
The health screenings provided at the event were made free for all attendees thanks to the generosity of the sponsors: Honda, Hospital Foundation of Decatur County and its generous supporters, Duke Energy, Aspen Place Health Campus, Napoleon State Bank, and United Fund.
