Decatur County Memorial Hospital Rehabilitation Services patient of the month is Father John Meyer. Father John has been nominated by his physical therapist, Holly Koors. Father John is doing great with physical therapy after having orthopedic surgery. He continues to have a positive attitude even when he encounters a setback. He can push himself to complete challenging activities without overdoing it. He also does a great job being patient in the time needed for his body to heal. He is determined to return to his prior level of function to assist those in our community and return to his favorite hobbies.
Father John said this about his physical therapy experience: “I’m used to taking care of myself, so having knee replacement surgery and physical therapy as well, was quite humbling. But I cannot say enough about how supportive and encouraging, and challenging that Holly Koors and the whole crew at DCMH physical rehabilitation center have been! Little by little, I feel like I’m getting to be stronger than ever before! I’m truly grateful!”
Holly has enjoyed treating Father John and helping him reach his goals. He puts a smile on the faces of all the staff and other patients he encounters while in therapy. He sets a great example to other patients!
Congratulations, Father John!
