GREENSBURG, IN-  Last month, Decatur County Memorial Hospital put the slogan, “the quality care you want, close by,” to action with our annual Healthy Fair. On June 22, 2023, the DCMH 2023 Healthy Fair was held at Greensburg Elementary School from 9 a.m. to Noon. With over 400 attendees and over 100 attendees receiving lab draws, it is safe to call the event a success. Having been the first indoor Healthy Fair since the COVID-19 pandemic, members of Decatur County and beyond came together to provide a variety of health services from free screenings, guest speakers, vendor tables, and more. Free screenings included thyroid, A1C, and lipid profile: cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and triglycerides. The Healthy Fair also hosted three sessions with DCMH providers Dr. Krishnan Rajagopal, Caylen Cable, NP, and Dr. Eric Tannenabum who educated guests on their specialties and answered questions about how to take control of their health. Moreover, guests also visited with various community partners who generously offered their knowledge, opportunities, and giveaways.

Community vendors included sponsors such as Honda, Morning Breeze, and Aspen Place. Other partners included the Decatur County Family YMCA, Decatur County Sherriff’s Department, and more. Additionally, many DCMH departments and services were present including Primary Care, Cancer Care and Infusion Services, Emergency Medical Services, and more. The event also had activities for children, including temporary tattoos from Miss Tree City 2022 and balloon animals and hats from Easterling Entertainment. Overall, the event allowed members of the local and surrounding community to come together with a common mission: being healthy. DCMH would like to thank all the sponsors, volunteers, vendors, and community members who made this event possible.
