Lung Screening

At Decatur County Memorial Hospital, we offer lung screenings that are noninvasive, painless, and fast.

If you, or someone close to you, is a smoker or former smoker, you may be at risk for lung cancer and could benefit from a lung screening.

The best chance of beating lung cancer is to find it early when there are treatment options available. DCMH offers Low Dose Computed Tomography (CT) screening for individuals with a significant history of tobacco use.

Don’t wait—take control of your lung health today.

“There is nothing more important than knowing the health of your lungs. The more risk factors you have, the greater your need for a screening,”
Dr. Robert Hasson
Radiologist, Decatur County Memorial Hospital

Lung Screenings are Recommended for Men and Women Who Meet the Following Criteria:

  • 50-80 years of age
  • 20 pack-year or more smoking history (1 pack of cigarettes per day for 20 years; 2 packs per day for 10 years, etc.)
  • Not currently having any symptoms (cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, etc.)

All CT scans are evaluated by a team of radiologists and a Nurse Navigator will work closely with your provider following the results. If you are experiencing symptoms, contact your family medicine provider.

For a comprehensive approach to your lung health, call 812-663-1157 today to schedule your $49 lung screening.

This lung screening is self-pay and payment is due at the time of the procedure.
