Daniel (Dan) Helms is the March 2026 Rehabilitation Services Patient of the Month. He was nominated by his team of therapists: Heather Riga (Speech Therapy), Ladine Lipinski (Occupational Therapy), Carly Evers (Occupational Therapy), and Emily Schmid (Physical Therapy).
After having a stroke in December, Dan came to his therapy sessions determined to regain his mobility and independence. Maintaining a great attitude, Dan was motivated to participate in therapy. He has a willingness to work hard and push himself to his fullest potential.
In Speech Therapy, he worked to improve word finding and cognition. In Physical and Occupational Therapy, he held a strong dedication to getting back to being independent with activities of daily living, improving necessary skills, and his mobility. He was looking forward to returning to enjoy his favorite activities of spending time with family, working in his business, and playing golf. He is happy to be able to attend his yearly golf trip after his time in therapy. Dan continues to get stronger each day and able to be active for longer periods of time.
