Decatur County Memorial Hospital recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Rehab Facility and Medical Office Building. In an exciting event filled with speeches, and a ceremonial groundbreaking, guests had the incredible opportunity to watch this brand new expansion to the DCMH campus begin. DCMH upholds its values of quality, community, integrity, and compassion by understanding the need for this additional space to provide our patients and our community with the next level of quality care, close by. This remarkable new addition will house a state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility, including services in physical therapy, speech therapy, cardiac rehab, and pulmonary rehab. Furthermore, it will include an orthopedic clinic with onsite x-ray, a foot/ankle clinic, and exam rooms for primary care, internal medicine, and specialty care. The tremendous work of the rehabilitation services team will only continue to grow at this new facility. At the groundbreaking ceremony, guests listened to the remarks of Rex McKinney, CEO and President of DCMH, Dr. N. Anjum Fazlani, doctor of internal medicine and medical director of rehab services, Dr. Mieasha Barksdale, foot and ankle surgeon, and Larry Rueff, Board of Trustees Chairperson. Afterword, members of the DCMH Board of Trustees, Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, staff of the rehabilitation services team, and other key stakeholders participated in this ceremony. The DCMH Rehab Facility and Medical Office Building will open its doors in 2023.
