Decatur County Memorial Hospital offers Prenatal Education and Breastfeeding classes, taught by a trained instructor.

These classes are designed to empower expectant parents and their birth partners with the knowledge and skills necessary for a positive labor & delivery experience, as well as breastfeeding.

Prenatal Classes: During the free classes, you’ll receive comprehensive pregnancy support and learn relaxation and breathing techniques for labor, which helps expectant parents and their support person(s) prepare for childbirth. These classes offer a wonderful opportunity to build confidence, bond, and explore the birthing center, helping you feel prepared and at ease before delivery.

Breastfeeding Classes: During these free classes, you’ll learn the benefits of breast milk, how to start breastfeeding, ways to prevent common issues, enhance your ability to develop a successful breastfeeding relationship, and receive guidance for accommodating breastfeeding during work or school schedules.
