Star Award Winner

Amber Myers is the DCMH 2024 1st Quarter STAR winner. Amber has served as the Retail Pharmacy Supervisor since 2023. Amber earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from Butler University and has worked in a retail pharmacy setting for over 22 years. Born in Shelbyville, Amber resides in St. Paul, IN, with her partner, Bob, and three boys, Robert, 18, Luke, 15, and Wyatt, 9. Outside of work, Amber enjoys watching her children compete in sports, and her partner compete in Strongman competitions. Additionally, she enjoys playing pickleball with her family and Pokémon with her mom and youngest son.

Amber attributes her success at DCMH to her team:  “They all give so much heart and effort into making sure our patients are taken care of and can get their medications at the most affordable cost possible.” She also notes that others can find the same success in their work by leading by example, taking pride in their work, and listening to others. Her personal motto, “Be kind always; you never know what someone is going through,” is clear throughout her work.

Amber’s nomination exemplifies her commitment to providing top-of-the-line service and care to patients and her staff. Around the time Amber began her position, the DCMH Pharmacy had a massive influx of new prescriptions to fill. Amber positioned herself and her team to work through this and put measures into place to help patients and the team. Her nomination states, “She is giving, caring, a natural leader, empathetic with patients and staff, and humble in her work. She was able to come in and put her thoughts and heart into how to better the pharmacy.”

Reflecting on her role, Amber’s favorite part of her job is being able to interact with patients and get to know them and their stories. She loves being able to connect with people. Amber’s commitment to providing effective, high-quality service and care to patients and her team is evident and highly commendable.
